Combining aerodynamics, lightness, and a ride quality previously unimaginable, nothing rivals the speed of the Tarmac SL8. After eight generations and two decades of development, the SL8 is not only the fastest Tarmac ever created, but also the fastest race bike in the world. Are your legs up to the challenge?

A bike doesn't just need to be aerodynamic or light to win; it needs to be fast. To achieve this, it must combine aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness, and comfort without compromise. Real-world race simulations conducted by our Ride Science team have shown that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest race bike in the world on major circuits: 16.6 seconds faster over 40 km, 128 seconds faster on Milan-San Remo, and 20 seconds faster on the legendary Tourmalet pass.

The Tarmac SL8 Expert is now equipped with the new SRAM Force AXS groupset, guaranteeing reduced weight, effective braking, and faster, more precise shifting.

  • AERO IS EVERYTHING: we focus on aerodynamics where it truly matters – the leading edge – not just where it looks good. In this process, we've created our most aerodynamic road bike ever. Yes, it's more aerodynamic than the Venge. Airflow is optimized to deliver maximum benefits to the Tarmac's new nose – the Speed Sniffer. By moving the fork steerer tube backwards – this part determines the width of the head tube – the head tube's leading edge becomes much sharper, offering significantly lower aerodynamic drag. Utilizing the new UCI rules, the Tarmac SL8 features the narrowest and most aero seatpost we've ever designed, ensuring that turbulent air moving quickly around the legs flows more cleanly. Can you smell the victory?

  • MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERODYNAMICS: inspired by the Aethos, the S-Works Tarmac SL8 was designed to the limits of UCI rules and equipped with the most aerodynamic components available. We created a revolutionary ultralight frame of only 685 grams, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7, and the lightest frame on the World Tour*. The Tarmac SL8 also draws inspiration from the Aethos's featherlight weight in the downtube, seat tube, and rear of the bike. The frame shape distributes the load so evenly that stiff carbon layers seem almost superfluous. * Unless you count Kasper Asgreen's 585-gram Aethos frame on a Tour de France stage.

  • WHEN SPEED RHYMES WITH COMFORT: with a stiffness-to-weight ratio 33% higher than the SL7, the Tarmac SL8 and its World Championship-proven geometry push the boundaries of handling, responsiveness, and aggressiveness even further. This generation is stiffer when pedaling, more precise at the handlebars, and combines this with more vertical compliance, redefining the level of comfort for race bikes. Thanks to our Rider-First Engineering concept, we offer riders of all sizes the same ride quality, comfort, and handling. The Tarmac SL8's saddle offers 6% more vertical compliance, allowing you to float over rough roads with unprecedented comfort in the world of race bikes. Combining the proven Tarmac geometry with a 32mm tire clearance identical to the SL7, the Tarmac SL8 is a versatile competition bike that can accommodate larger volume tires if needed.

  • BEYOND GENDER: differences can be more pronounced between two male cyclists than between male and female cyclists. The gender of cyclists alone does not provide enough data to design a gendered bike, which is therefore an arbitrary and outdated concept. All cyclists can benefit from the same revolutionary advantages offered by the Tarmac SL8. It's time to go beyond gender.

  • The Tarmac SL8 Expert is a more accessible bike than our higher-end versions but is also built for performance thanks to its SRAM Force AXS groupset equipped with a power meter, its Tubeless-ready C38 carbon wheels, its SL7 stem, and its Specialized Expert Alloy Shallow Drop handlebar.
