Whether you're riding or exploring in the backcountry this winter, you'll benefit from the fruits of our collaboration with 686. In this case, we're talking about the all-new 686 x Specialized Women's Tech Insulator.

Starting from the outside, you'll find that the Tech Insulator is constructed from a fabric that has been given a DWR coating, making it water-resistant. Beyond this layer of the jacket, we've incorporated 100g of Primaloft® insulation to constantly keep you warm both under exertion and when you're relaxed. Primaloft® was chosen for its ultra-light breathability and high warmth-to-weight ratio. Essentially, all of this adds up to a reliable insulating layer that will never leave you biting or cold.

In addition, the jacket includes an adjustable hood for when conditions are particularly cold, as well as Lycra® wrist gaiters that interface perfectly with gloves. And knowing that this jacket will most likely be used in unpleasant conditions, it also features a fold-down spray skirt and 3M® reflective trim that will increase your visibility to other riders and motorists in low-light conditions.

In terms of fit and feel, stretch panels in the armpits have been incorporated to promote a full and uninhibited range of motion when riding or hiking on the bike. It has also received our relaxed fit, which means it will fit loosely on the body to leave plenty of room for additional layers.

Storing your riding essentials will be handled by internal mesh storage pockets, and there's also a SWAT access pocket at the back for use with our SWAT bib shorts or other SWAT-equipped pieces in the 686 x Specialized apparel line.
