Guided by over 100,000 foot scans from our RETÜL positioning data, we have refined every detail of the S-Works Torch's upper to achieve improved fit and performance. For example, the BOA® cable has been shifted downwards and angled to prevent the arch from lifting in the shoe. This development eliminated the hook-and-loop strap from the previous version while providing an improved power structure and eliminating unwanted pressure or pinching.
Again, drawing on information gathered from over 100,000 foot scans through our Retül positioning technology, we recognized that two different sole shapes, narrow and wide, would suit a wider range of foot shapes.
An internal I-beam structure adds rigidity and strength without the need for additional reinforcement. The result is a 20-gram weight reduction, increased efficiency, and immediate power transfer.
Following RETÜL biomechanical data, we created an asymmetrical heel cup that maintains essential knee alignment and provides the support cyclists love, all while improving comfort by adapting to a wider range of foot shapes.
